Routing - How well do the holes flow and sequence in a coherent relationship with the terrain, unfolding in a natural and seamless manner. SCORE 1-10 ALONG WITH COMMENTS.

CHARACTER - Are there bold features that encourage unique play different from other courses or as a collective group, do the holes adhere to a consistent theme that makes it a unique play? Or does this course excel in more typical design concepts for some reason? SCORE 1-10 ALONG WITH COMMENTS.

STRATEGIC - What components of the course made you plan your way through the hole and/or make decisions on shots or paths to the green? Were there multiple ways to play each hole? Was there temptation to go for shots you probably shouldn’t have attempted while more conservative paths were ignored? Would golfers of different skill sets or strengths/weaknesses be able to have an even match considering the design of the course? SCORE 1-10 ALONG WITH COMMENTS.

HEROIC - Are there shots that seem to challenge the uppermost threshold of your skill set? Visually intimidating carries, greens or fairways from the tee that drive the nerves and demand execution, or else? What are the heroic components of the course, are they well placed and used throughout the course and do they enhance the character of the course? SCORE 1-10 ALONG WITH COMMENTS.

PENAL - How does the course handle shots off line? Is the measure of penalty too severe or does the course allow a chance at redemption? Or both? How well does this aspect of the course enhance or detract from the character of the course? SCORE 1-10 ALONG WITH COMMENTS.

SHAPING - To what extent does shaping of fairways, bunkers, green complexes or anything else add or detract from the course? SCORE 1-10 ALONG WITH COMMENTS.

Natural Features - Are there beneficial natural features that the course could have incorporated (or did incorporate) into the design? If so, how well was that accomplished in terms of play (as opposed to just scenery)? SCORE 1-10 ALONG WITH COMMENTS.

BUNKER COMPLEXES / TREES / WATER / OTHER HAZARDS - Frequency of use? Used in multiple and exciting ways or simply placed to the sides of the greens and tee landing areas? Overdone in number or size? If so, do they enhance or detract from the character of the course? SCORE 1-10 ALONG WITH COMMENTS.

DRIVING GAME - What are the challenges or decisions off the tee? Is there variety? What types of emotions does each tee shot evoke, whether it's inspiration from a scenic view or pressure of what is expected? Are there benefits or advantages to using different clubs or shot shapes? HISTORICAL CONTEXT - How does the course fit into the evolution of course design? Is it revolutionary in any way or how much should it be considered a strong representation of a particular era? Is the course generally regarded as a prime work of a particular architect? If so, how well did the course meet or excel its general reputation for you? MEMORABILITY - What about the design do you think you will remember the most? Does what you remember the best signify an excellent design or are there other non-design related components that were more memorable and better contributed to your experience? SCORE 1-10 ALONG WITH COMMENTS.

CONDITIONING - Does the conditioning enhance or detract from the playing experience? Not only how well the conditions are, but do they fit in the overall design presentation, maximizing the strengths of the course? SCORE 1-10 ALONG WITH COMMENTS.
