Mountain Ridge Country Club
Mountain Ridge Country Club has been around since the early 20th century, and it's had quite the journey. It was originally founded in 1912 in West Orange, New Jersey, by a group of Jewish businessmen who were denied membership at other local golf clubs. Talk about a hole-in-one for perseverance!
The club moved to its current location in West Caldwell, New Jersey, in 1931, and that's when they hired the legendary golf course architect Donald Ross to design the new course. The course was completed and dedicated in 1931, and it's been a beloved destination for golf enthusiasts ever since.
Over the years, Mountain Ridge Country Club has hosted several prestigious golf tournaments, including the 2012 U.S. Senior Amateur Championship, the 2020 MET Open, and the 2021 LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup. That's quite the impressive resume!
The club has also undergone some renovations and restorations over the years to maintain its pristine condition. In 2012, they celebrated their 100th anniversary, and they've been continuously working to preserve the club's rich history and traditions.
Today, Mountain Ridge Country Club is a private, non-profit organization that prides itself on providing a premier full-service, family-oriented country club experience. With its beautiful 18-hole championship golf course, stunning clubhouse, and a variety of recreational facilities, it's no wonder that it's considered one of the best-kept secrets in New Jersey.
